Ann Beeson joined the Center for Public Policy Priorities in 2013. CPPP works to build a better Texas, where thriving families are the state’s greatest resource and all Texans have the chance to compete and succeed. A renowned social justice lawyer, Ms. Beeson was previously the Executive Director of U.S. Programs at the Open Society Foundations, where she promoted human rights, justice, and accountability nationwide. Ms. Beeson was also the national Associate Legal Director of the American Civil Liberties Union.

Kids, Race and Equity- Data and Tools for Child Wellness and Opportunity in Texas

This workshop will explore current research innovations at the national, state and regional level that employ principles of racial equity to track the well being of children and eliminate racial disparities. The panel will be lead by national and Texas-based research organizations the Annie E Casey Foundation, the Center for Public Policy Priorities and the Center for Elimination of Disproportionality and Disparities. The presenters will share research findings, toolsets, methods in technical assistance, and service delivery practices that help track, measure and advocate for racial equity and child well-being.
