Building a Community Led Movement to End Mass Incarceration

Research can be a vehicle for unearthing stories in order to fuel the resistance to the oppression we face. This workshop will explore how individuals and organizations throughout the country are examining and using community participatory research to illuminate and demystify the reality of the cradle to prison pipeline and the grave impacts of incarceration on individuals, families, and communities -- humanizing research and the lives of participants in the process. This highly interactive workshop is geared towards those who are actively engaged in working with young people and dismantling the prison industrial complex.
Speakers: Patrisse Cullors, DeAngelo Bester, Milan Alexander, Alicia Walters, Azadeh Zohrabi, Kennadi Robinson, Ashley Triggs
