Janet Mock is a writer and Staff Editor at People.com, who publicly shared her teenage transition story in Marie Claire magazine in 2011. A native of Honolulu, Janet has spoken about transgender issues on MSNBC and HLN, holds a masters in journalism from New York University and runs the online campaign #GirlsLikeUs to empower trans women to live visibly. Her memoir Fish Food comes out Fall 2013 with Atria Books.
