Facing Race 2026 Bull & Oak Bus Tour: Solidarity across Two Cities

Welcome to the Facing Race 2026 Bull & Oak Bus Tour: Solidarity across Two Cities

Tickets for the 2026 Facing Race Raleigh-Durham Bus Tour are on sale now!

Raleigh and Durham make up two-thirds of the North Carolina Triangle. Neighboring communities with deeply intertwined yet distinctly different histories.

Though our airport presents the cities as a hyphenate, they could not be more different. Raleigh is the seat of the North Carolina state government, while Durham was, from its earliest history, marked by rebellion against establishment politics.

The Bull and Oak Bus Tour explores the people, places, and movements that have shaped these two cities and their lasting influence on North Carolina. You will visit sites where historically marginalized communities built institutions where they could aspire to realize their highest potential and organize to bring those values to the state and national level.

Guided by local historians and community leaders,  you will hear stories of how the resilience and solidarity of concerned citizens across city and color lines transformed North Carolina. You will also hear of the historic clashes between progressive and regressive political movements that are eerily relevant today. Provided on the Bull and Oak. The tour will be led by expert guides, with fascinating stops across the two cities, and a catered boxed lunch to enjoy during the ride.

This year's tour was designed and curated by our Host Committee
