JENNI MONET reports on Indigenous rights and inequality for such publications as the Center for Investigative Reporting, PBS NewsHour, Al Jazeera, and more. In 2017, Monet received top honors for her coverage of the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, including the Paul Tobenkin Memorial Award from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism, the Hugh Hefner First Amendment Award, and Journalist of the Year from the Newswomen's Club of New York. Monet is a tribal citizen of the Pueblo of Laguna, a tribal nation in New Mexico, and lives between Brooklyn, Tucson when not on assignment.
